Getting started
How LeadLens works
The end-to-end flow: tracked link or merge-tag URL → identified session → live view + AI summary.
Know exactly who's on your site
Most analytics tools start anonymous and try to guess who the visitor was later. LeadLens flips it. Identification happens at the link, before the visitor even loads your page — so the second a prospect clicks, you know it's them, not "someone from a 200-employee SaaS company."
- You get a contact into LeadLens. Add them by hand, import a CSV, or sync a list from your CRM.
- You give them a tracked or merge-tag URL.
- A short link like
https://www.tryleadlens.com/l/abc123(unique per contact, generated on their detail page). - Or a campaign link on your own domain like
https://yoursite.com/pricing?utm_lead={{email}}for email blasts — your email tool fills in the merge tag at send time.
- A short link like
- The contact clicks. They land on your real destination URL and LeadLens quietly attaches their identity to the visit.
- From that moment on, every page they view on your site is tied to that named contact. You can watch them live, replay it later, and read an AI summary of intent.
What gets captured
Once a visitor is identified, four layers of signal go into the dashboard:
- Pageviews. Which pages they hit, in what order, and how long they stayed.
- Session replay. A screencast-style recording you can scrub through to see exactly what they saw. Form inputs are masked.
- Location. Country, region, and city derived from IP at the network edge — if you've enabled visitor location. Raw IPs are never stored.
- AI insight. When the session ends you get an intent label, a plain-English summary, key moments, and a suggested next step.
Who gets tracked
By default, only visitors who arrived through a tracked or merge-tag link you generated. Anyone landing on your site directly, from Google, or from another source is invisible to LeadLens.
If you want a fuller picture, flip on anonymous tracking in Settings. Anonymous sessions get the same replay treatment but stay nameless until something identifies them.
What you do in the dashboard
- Manage People — identified contacts and (optionally) anonymous visitors, side by side.
- Generate tracked links per contact, or grab the campaign link for a verified domain.
- Watch sessions live to see who's on your site right now and what page they're on.
- Replay any past visit like a video.
- Read the AI summary for a quick read on intent and a recommended next step.
- Hit ⌘K from anywhere to search contacts, jump pages, or run quick actions — see Search & shortcuts.
